Alteration projects can be as simple as re-lining an existing wall for sound proofing and insulation through to removing existing walls and/or windows and doors to create a more spacious environment with better linkage between rooms.

Custom Renovations will guide you on what is possible and what work would require a building consent. The example below was successfully completed in December 2005.

The two storey house was originally built in the late 1800's. There had been some alterations done prior to this one. Custom Renovations worked with the client from the initial design stage, and took care of the drawings and the permit application, as well as completing the work with minimal disruption to family life.

The wall divided the two rooms. The room shown was small, and separate from the kitchen/dining room.

Before: Room behind the wall

By removing the wall, we created a family room providing a more spacious and integrated family environment.

After: Room with a view
